He was born in Albalat dels Sorells (Valencia) in September 1st, 1946.
When he was very young his parents established themselves in Campo de Mirra (Alicante), where they finally fixed their residence. When he was 10 years, his father realizing his interest in painting, offered him an oil set with all the necessary material to paint, thus incentivating Francis to go on with his penchant. For the next two years he continued with his studies, drawings and paintings and in 1958 he moves to Alcoy, from where, a month later, he proceeds to Cocentaina. There, he lives at his first teacher's home, Antonio Torregrosa, a good painter and a better person, where he is heartily welcome, which contributes to forge very strong links of friendship with the teacher and his family. For the next three years he lives with them, following the advice and lessons from the painter.
As of then, he goes on with his pictorial activities, mainly cantered in Alcoy, where he meets some excellent painters and friends, such as R. Fuster, V. Sánchez, J. Vila, J. Senabre and A. Valero (already dead), amongst whom he manages to create a very favourable atmosphere for his learning, including visits to museums and exhibitions. Barcelona, Madrid and Valencia will be some of the frequently visited cities. F. Calabuig remembers this period as a tough but beautiful one. Stimulated by the painter R. Fuster, in 1973, presents his first individual exhibition in Valencia, at the Asociación de la Prensa.
From that moment on, he has exhibited his works in several cities, having already prepared more than 60 individual exhibitions and many more collective ones. Private collectors and galleries in France, Germany, Great Britain, United States, Brazil and Japan, among others, have paintings by him.
